Starks Mayhaw Festival Features Everything From Bluegrass to Gospel to Swamp Pop and Jelly

Starks is your stop this weekend for the annual Starks Mayhaw Festival. There's all the things that make a Southwest Louisiana carnival great  .... and jelly!

The festival starts Thursday and continues through Saturday. Of course you'll find rides, a talent contest, a beauty pageant, a parade, arts and crafts, an auction and live entertainment covering Gospel, Swamp Pop, Blues, Blue Grass, Country and more.....whew! Did I mention there's also Jelly? Start getting your Mayhaw jelly cooking and enter the contest. The weather should be great so pack up the family and a few lawn chairs then head to Starks. Who knows ..... you may find a peanut butter and Mayhaw jelly sandwich like the one pictured above.
