Voters in Calcasieu Parish have approved a sales tax to fund raises for school board employees. Educators have not had a pay raise since 2005 and it is hoped that the raise will attract more good teachers to the area.

Voters in Calcasieu Parish have a very important proposal to consider at the polls and that proposal involves teacher pay raises. There's a subject that has been a hot issue for years now and this is our chance to make our wished known regarding education.

Well here we go again. Here's another embarrassing factoid from the state of Louisiana. Thank God Arkansas is there looking even worse (if that's possible.)

One would think that teachers would have enough sense to know that underwear and shoes are required dress for school. Well, one would be very wrong. Arkansas has been forced to make the aforementioned articles of clothing required. It's not the students (so much) that need to be told ; It's the teachers!
