No matter how careful we are, everyone gets stains on their clothes at one time or another.  Most of the time when that happens, I am no where near a washing machine.  So time with a stain is our enemy, the longer it sits, the harder it gets to remove it.  Often times, we don't even have stain removers in our laundry room.  Another trip to the grocery is usually not on our list of things to do when we get an unexpected stain (not that they are every really expected).

Knowing that the manufactured stain removers can be full of chemicals and can be pricey as well I needed to find another source...Once again, the internet to the rescue. As usual, there's a DIY stain remover that's quick, easy, effective and inexpensive to make.  It's easy since there's only common household items needed and it's easy to store in a old glass jar...and you'll need an old toothbrush too.

1/3 cup Dawn dishwashing liquid

1/3  cup ammonia

1 cup warm water

Mix gently the three ingredients.  With an old toothbrush gently scrub the stain on your clothing.  Wash immediately and you are on your way care free and stain free!
