Our news partners at KATC TV3 are reporting that State Police are noticing a back-up on I-10, probably due to evacuees in advance of Hurricane Delta.

It appears that the westbound lanes of I-10 between Lake Charles and the Texas State Line are experiencing heavy traffic, and it's most likely due to those trying to escape the threat of Hurricane Delta. The Storm Team 3 Weather Lab is encouraging everyone to have their storm preparations completed by the end of the day today, as Hurricane Delta is being forecast to come ashore Friday, most likely near Cameron.

For those who will be evacuating, remember that some of the state highways might be less congested than the Interstate system. Yes, it will take you a bit longer to evacuate, but it may save you some headaches in the long run.

Whichever route you choose please be courteous and stay safe.
