The Cameron Parish OEP has issued a voluntary evacuation for residents living in Little Chenier, Chenier Perdue, and portions of East Grand Chenier areas.

Due to the rising water levels and the impact it might have on roadways, Cameron officials are anticipating areas that are at an elevation of 3 foot or lower may be flooded.

Here are some preparation tips:

  • Take care of any items that are in ground level structures
  • Secure your sewer pumps
  • Secure any loose items in your yard.

Sandbags are available at the Creole Fire Station/Community Center located on 184 East Creole Highway.

The Louisiana National Guard is staged at the fire station and can assist with loading the sandbags.
