Born in Port Arthur, Texas, and left for good after graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School then attended Sam Houston State University on an athletic pass, eventually earning a BBA, RAB, and CRMC. Became a Broadcaster on 25 October 1976. Worked for a decade in environmental marketing for a company that cleaned up oil and hazardous materials spills inclusive of many in-plant maintenance projects in the Lake Charles area from 1993-2003. Spent time on oil spills and hazardous incidents that made national news, including the anthrax cleanup at the Central New York City Post Office, following the 911 attack. Broadcasting and media were always my first love and over the years, I've broadcast in Beaumont, Houston, Denver and Lake Charles. Hobbies include small engine repair and vintage lawnmower restoration, woodworking, gardening, and Astros baseball.

Pipeline Fire near NOLA
A few days ago I wrote about a new pipeline from Lake Charles to St James Parish in which I touted pipeline safety (click here) plus the jobs it produces and I noted that in some ten years in the 'oilfield' I'd only seen a couple of pipeline incidents, while more often attending to clients at various truck rollovers, train derailments, barge and tanker leaks and so on.
