It's almost a month before the official beginning of the 2015 Atlantic hurricane season, but Mother Nature doesn't consult the calendar. Forecasters say that we could see the formation of the first named storm of the season in a matter of just a few days.

 

The National Weather Service is watching a cluster of thunderstorms in the NW Caribbean across Cuba and some of the computer models suggest that the system could form into an area of low pressure over the next few days off the coast of Georgia and the Carolinas.
The National Hurricane Center is giving this system a 40 percent chance of sub-tropical development over the next five days. If the storm system acts as they expect, the system will not be a threat to the Gulf Coast. The first named storm of the season will be named Ana
