World Famous Cajun Extravaganza & Gumbo Cook-Off This Weekend

Over 60 teams will descend on Lake Charles this weekend to rock your taste buds!

Bring your family, as there will be public taste tests from every pot of chicken and sausage, seafood, or wild game gumbo.

WHEN: Saturday, March 2nd, 8:00am - 2:00pm

WHERE: Lake Charles Civic Center Exhibition Hall

Amateur and professional teams alike will cook their hearts out in this competition.

The gumbo contest begins at 7:30am and judging is at 11:30am. The gumbo will be served to the public immediately afterward until 1:30pm.

You can't have a Cajun Cook-off without music, right?! Also enjoy live performances by Cajun and Zydeco artists!

There are three categories: chicken and sausage, seafood, and wild game. There are amateur and professional divisions. Admission is only $5, which gives you access to sample every pot of gumbo!
