Why Does Oreo Keep Making Weird Flavors

For the last few years, Oreo has cranked out some pretty outrageous flavors, but why?

According to some industry experts, Oreo is pretty much pulling a Jedi Mind Trick on us. When the crazy flavors are released, the traditional cookies actually sell better. Sales on traditional Oreos have jumped 22% since they started selling the weird flavors.

They also said the new flavors somehow make us remember how good the original cookies are, so it's like free advertising.

When I was a kid, I loved to dunk my Oreos in milk, but I find as an adult, my hankering for sweets has dropped tremendously. I know without a shadow of a doubt I would've been the kid in the grocery store begging my mom to buy me these crazy flavors.

I've never bought any of the special flavors Oreo has released, but I wouldn't be opposed to it if I was offered one. It also blows my mind that the new thing is a thin Oreo cookie. For my money, the only one I will buy is the double stuffed. The best part of the cookie is the filling. Why in the world would someone want less of that goodness?
