So many diet plans would have you believe that they can make you go from the "before" couple to the "after" couple and still eat your favorite foods. Avoid those plans like the plague!

the main "secret" to dieting is this: common sense.  If you eat raw fruits and vegetables and lean proteins...and you take a brisk walk for 20 to 30 minutes a day, you'll lose weight.

Still, it never hurts to have a sensible PLAN!

We did a bit of research and, thanks to the  U.S. News and World Report, we found the Best Diet Rankings.

May I have the envelope please?.....

U.S. News & World Report’s Best Diets rankings chose the DASH diet as the best diet overall, best diet for healthy eating, and best diet for diabetes. DASH – Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension – has been proven in studies sponsored by the National Institutes of Health to lower blood pressure. The low-salt diet provides additional benefits to reduce blood pressure because it is based on an eating plan rich in fruits and vegetables, and low-fat or non-fat dairy with whole grains. It’s a high-fiber, low- to moderate-fat diet rich in potassium, calcium and magnesium. The Best Diets ranking this year includes, for the first time, the category of easiest diets to follow. Of the 25 diets evaluated, the five easiest diets to follow include Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Mediterranean Diet, and Slim-Fast and Volumetrics tying for fourth.
