(Lake Charles, Louisiana) - Severe weather is heading for South Louisiana consisting of tornadoes, strong winds, rain, and hail tomorrow on Mardi Gras.  We have all the details.

Meteorologists are saying that the whole state of Louisiana will experience severe weather tomorrow. Louisiana could see tropical storm force winds during Mardi Gras.

The highest probability of the most severe weather in this weather event tomorrow will be in the middle to northern parts of the Bayou State. The National Weather Service (NWS) is saying that this storm front will be capable of producing tornadoes, hail, floods, and strong wind.

Meteorologist Zack Fradella recently posted a graphic on the timing of the storm front moving across Louisiana.

Currently, the city of Lake Charles hasn't posted an update on if the city's Mardi Gras festivities and parades will be postponed on our their Facebook page.  We'll keep you updated when any news comes available on our website, social media, and on the air.

Southwest Louisiana Three Day Forecast:

  • Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. Southeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
  • Tuesday: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 2pm. Some of the storms could be severe. High near 75. Windy, with a south wind 25 to 30 mph becoming west 15 to 20 mph. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Tuesday Night: Clear, with a low around 50. Southwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.
  • Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 65. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
  • Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 40. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light north after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
