The American Red Cross of Louisiana has been helping SWLA residents with hotel stays since Hurricane Laura left their homes uninhabitable. Over the weekend, some evacuees received a text from the Red Cross, informing them hotel lodging has come to an end. If you are one of those people and you still need hotel/lodging assistance, you can reenter the program. Please note, your residence must be listed in the "Major Damage" category to be eligible.

KPLC reports Red Cross of Louisiana Regional Manager Katy Sundusky says the Red Cross is consolidating their resources. If you are still unable to live in your home, need transportation to get back home or any other services, the Red Cross has a system in place to help you. See options below:

1.) Go to the Red Cross Facebook Page for the latest Hurricane Laura Disaster Relief Assistance updates.

2.) Call 211 to speak to a Red Cross partner for assistance with emergency lodging or transportation.

3.) If you have the means to do so, visit the Red Cross Alexandria Mega Shelter at 8125 Hwy. 171, Alexandria, LA 71302.
