Skate City, a local fixture of SWLA youth for the last 37 years, has announced via their Facebook page that they will be closing their doors forever very soon.

No date of the actual closure has been announce yet, however, they announced the closing on their Facebook page on September 7th:

Skate City has been part of this community for 37 years. We have watched children grow up into adulthood. We have experienced the joy of seeing generations pass on the weekly tradition of hanging out with friends, enjoying good exercise, and making memories. It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Skate City will be closing and we will miss our kids. We will update on the time frame as we can. We are forever grateful for the dedication and support that this community has shown over the years. We would love to see all of your faces again before we close the doors for the final time. Whether it has been twenty years or two weeks come see us and make some lasting memories. - Skate City LC

They also announced they want to have one last adult only skate before they close:

We have had a lot of requests for another adult skate night. This could be our last adult event depending on the actual close date. Come skate, bring your friends, enjoy 80’s and 90’s music, and have a few drinks. We are working on an alcohol booth. If we can’t get one together we will allow you to BYOB. We will update soon. - Skate City LC
