A couple of weeks ago, we featured a story about Derick Van Monk, 29, of Lake Charles being charged with laundering counterfeit money. that's a pretty serious charge all by itself, but now, Van Monk finds himself in even more hot water.

Authorities say that Van Monk has now been indicted on charges of possession of methamphetamine, Alprazolam, Clonazepam and OxyContin, as well as charges of illegal possession of a stolen firearm, carrying a weapon in the presence of drugs and resisting an officer. Those charges stem from an incident back in February, but no details of that incident are available.

Monk was arrested in July following complaints that he had laundered counterfeit money at several businesses and there could be more charges coming because, during a search, authorities found equipment that they say Van Monk may have used to actually make the funny money.
