The state of Louisiana has been glued to their TV sets as the team from River Ridge, Louisiana has slowly advanced round by round in the Little League World Series.

More specifically, the team is from the East Bank of New Orleans. They dominated the Championship game by winning 8-0 over the Caribbean.

It all came to a head yesterday as Louisiana faced a powerful Curacao team. However, they were no match for the arm of Egan Prather, who pitched a two-hit shutout to lead his team to victory!

Prather threw 88 pitches for the win in the Championship game and it capped off a very successful LLWS tournament for the young man, as he picked up two victories and struck out nineteen batters in 14 1/3 innings.

The kids from River Ridge also got a shoutout from the president:

This LLWS victory is the first for Louisiana. Very big congratulations are in order for our kids for "reppin' the Boot" on a worldwide stage!
