Lake Charles, Louisiana Flood Risks This Week With Gulf Disturbance
A disturbance in the Gulf will cause large amounts of rain to be dumped on Southwest Louisiana this week, and we have all the details on flooding.
The LSU AgCenter has established an interactive website where you can view Louisiana's flood maps. The maps also employ data from Louisiana's Department of Transportation and Development to provide a basic image of where the most flood-prone locations in Calcasieu Parish are located.
The information on this site is not "official" but it does come from credible educational and government sources. It allows you to see if your home of business is at risk for flooding. It will also allow you to see a 100 year flood estimate for your address.
There is a legend on the top right of the map that will tell you what the different markings on the map mean.
Another thing to possibly look up would be your route to work and your workplace to get an idea if you will have issues getting to work this week during the large amounts of rain impacting our area.
