Is Lake Charles Still Getting A Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers?
We reported seven months ago that Lake Charles was getting a Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, so it begs the question is Freddy's still coming?
The Advocate reported that Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers will be opening a franchise location in Lake Charles as part of their 2022 expansion.
Freddy's was founded in 2002 in Wichita, Kansas. The restaurant is named after the founders' dad, Freddy Simon, a World War II Veteran. Their first location was in Hutchinson, Kansas.
The company also announced that it will be expanding and opening 64 locations around the U.S. in six states. Freddy's already has two locations in Lafayette and three locations in Baton Rouge.
Other Franchise Locations Opening In Louisiana:
- West Monroe
- Bossier City
Freddy's also announced some great news for our friends in SETX. Beaumont and Port Arthur will also be getting franchise locations soon.
I looked into it and oh boy, does their food look amazing. I can't wait to get my hands on one of their famous steakburgers and frozen custard. That classic combo of salty and sweet is calling me like a siren's song.

I looked on Freddy's website for any mention of new locations coming soon and couldn't find anything. I also went to their "locations' tab on the website and typed in Lake Charles. It came back with the phrase "No Nearby Freddy's".
After the initial announcement of the company coming to Lake Charles, there hasn't been an update that I can find that fills us in on a potential date of opening.
