Holiday Art Market Features Local Artist

Earlier I wrote about local farmers markets as places to shop for unique and local gifts. If you have an art lover on your list ... here is where to find pieces by local artist.

It's the their annual Holiday Art Market sponsored by the Arts and Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana. According to the American Press you'll find watercolor prints, pottery, jewelry, books and handmade baskets from local artist. These will certainly be unique gifts. You'll also find Central School centennial ornaments. A portion of proceeds pays for local children to attend Calcasieu Parish School Board Summer Arts Camp. The market is open 3-7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Central School Arts and Humanities Center (809 Kirby Street.)
