Former LSU Tiger Odell Beckham Jr. Goes to the Giants
It sure would have been nice to keep Odell Beckham in Louisiana; but he went too high in the draft. There are lots of reasons why the New York Giants took Beckham with the 12th pick in this year's NFL draft.
The Saints did not pick until 22nd. There was no way the kid from Isidore Newman School in New Orleans and LSU standout was going to be around that long. According to SB Nation Beckham has arguably the best hands in this draft class. Despite having a smaller frame than some of the other top receivers, he has an outstanding catch radius and uses his body control to make plays along the sideline. With his superior athletic ability, Beckham has the potential to be a No. 1 wide receiver in the NFL. Beckham won the 2013 Paul Hornung Award which is awarded to the most versatile player in college football. He finished the 2013 season at LSU with 57 receptions for 1,117 yards and eight touchdowns
