First Possible Named Storm Could Impact Louisiana
Strong signs in the Gulf of Mexico are pointing to a disturbance possibly forming into the the first named storm of the 2024 hurricane season and have weather impacts on Louisiana. We have all the details.
Initially meteorologists were thinking that the Gulf disturbance that is currently impacting Florida could've been the first named storm of the season. However, it never organized before making landfall.
Now, several meteorologists are saying that is a really good chance that we could see Alberto form early next week and possibly head for Louisiana.
Meteorologist Dylan Federico and Travis Herzog think that future weather models are showing that the storm will be pushed into Mexico but still be a big rain event for Texas and Louisiana.
It's still too far away to get a good lock on what this storm will form into and where it will head. We'll get a clearer picture of what's in store early next week.
