FEMA contractors are in the area and will be assessing damage to residential and non-residential structures in Lake Charles. The inspections will take place Monday-Saturday between 7:00am-6:00pm. The assessments will take approximately two weeks to finish.

These hurricanes have really been much for all of us. As a matter of fact, I am still waiting on carpet to be installed in my house after we had to gut one of the rooms in our home. On top of that, we are having to take care of this out of pocket until the insurance company reimburses us.

Contractors will be wearing a photo badge so you will be able to establish their employment with FEMA. They will also have a signed letter from the City of Lake Charles to provide to property owners. Due to the pandemic, contractors will not be entering structures and will be wearing masks. The inspections are expected to last 30 minutes for residential properties and 30 to 90 for non-residential buildings.
