There have been a string of vehicle burglaries throughout the parish recently, and local law enforcement are cracking down to catch the culprits.

According to a media release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, the Vehicle Crimes Investigation Unit (VCIU) is searching for the suspects responsible for several vehicle burglaries that took place on Friday, March 8, at about 6:30 pm at a shopping center at the corner of Ryan Street and Sale Street in Lake Charles.

Video surveillance shows a small dark colored car in the parking lot, and detectives think it could be connected to the burglaries. They also learned a credit card stolen during the burglaries was used later on the same night at a store on Prien Lake Road in Lake Charles. There is also video surveillance of two men using the stolen credit card, said the media release.

Anyone with information regarding the vehicle burglaries or who can identify the car or the suspects in the photo and videos can contact CPSO at 491.3605.
