CPSO To Participate In Buckle Up In Your Truck

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office is cracking down on unrestrained drivers by participating in the Buckle Up In Your Truck initiative this weekend.

It started on Sunday, April 19 and continues through this Sunday, April 26, 2020. The CPSO has teamed up with the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission who are funding this campaign with grant money.

Kayla Vincent with the CPSO said,

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office will have increased checkpoints and an increased number of deputies on the road, particularly aimed at targeting people not wearing their seat belt in pick-up trucks, but also looking for anyone not wearing their seat belt in any type of vehicle.

Remember, Southwest Louisiana, that wearing a seat belt is one of the most important ways to keep you safe while traveling and it could even save your life in a crash.
