The Calcasieu Parish School Board (CPSB) has announced all CPSB students are eligible to eat free for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year.

This will be a big relief for many parents who are barely making ends meet while trying to recover from all the storms we have had in Southwest Louisiana over the past year.

According to Holly Holland with the Calcasieu Parish School Board,

This development comes after the United States Department of Agriculture deemed all CPSB schools qualified for the Community Eligibility Provision due to the recent events faced by our community.

What a relief for students and their families, right? One less thing to have to stress about for the upcoming school year. Is there something you need to do to make sure your students will receive the free breakfast and lunches?

According to the CPSB, there is no action necessary for students or parents to take to participate. Also, families who normally complete meal applications will not need to fill them out for the upcoming year.

This will save families a ton of money, especially if they have more than one or two students enrolled. We are happy to spread some good news to you today.
