This was a multiple agency operation involving ICE, US Border Patrol, Louisiana State Police, FBI, ATF, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, and the Lake Charles Police Department.

KPLC is reporting that the U.S. Immigration and Customs Agents had learned that businesses that own and race horses at the Delta Downs Racetrack in Vinton, were hiring people that were working in the country illegally.

The raid resulted in 84 arrests. After being processed for administrative immigration violations, each person detained was transferred to the Lake Charles Border Patrol Station. Agents are also looking into possible criminal activity involving the employment of these individuals who were not authorized to be in the United States.

At least two people arrest during the raid had criminal records and one was back in the USA illegally for the fourth time.
