Recently, Governor Edwards lifted the mask mandate for all Louisiana schools following the end of the semester. With that lift, he then left it up to each school's district to handle their own mask policy for the new school year. The Calcasieu Parish School Board met last night to go over how they would be moving forward with the use of masks in the classroom for faculty, staff, and students.

The official announcement was made following the meeting. The board voted to go ahead and also end the mask mandate for all Calcasieu Parish schools at the end of the current 2020-2021 semester. Once the semester for this year ends, masks will then be optional for all students and staff as they go into the next semester of 2021-2022.
