Curley Taylor a Zydeco artist from Grand Coteau, Louisiana will be performing this weekend in Lake Charles.

Blue Dog Café is excited to present Zydeco music on Saturdays in Downtown Lake Charles.  Allons danse' Zydeco!

Providing great local music has always been a priority for Blue Dog Café.  Their founder, George Rodrigue, loved Zydeco music and painted several Zydeco musicians like Clifton Chenier during his career. Through their Saturday Zydeco Lunch they hope to continue Rodrigue's tradition of celebrating South Louisiana culture.

Zydeco is a staple of Lake Charles because it is the home of significant Zydeco musicians!  Zydeco started at dances in area family homes.  Zydeco is a Louisiana folk-music tradition with a fast tempo beat, French and English lyrics, and focus on the accordion and wash-board.  Today, the genre is known for its traditional form and fusing in influences from R&B, soul, brass band, reggae, hip hop, rock and Afro-Caribbean.

Doors open at 10:30am and the music is from 11:00am – 2:00am.
