If you used a credit or debit card at Golden Nugget from May 4, 2014 through March 15, 2015 and from May 5, 2015 through December 3, 2015, being the latest 7 month long breach, you may have been affected and experts say you should keep close tabs on your accounts.

A spokesperson for the Golden Nugget commented:

"Although the Companies had existing measures in place designed to prevent unauthorized access to our systems, an unauthorized person(s) was able to install a program on payment processing devices at certain of our restaurants, food and beverage outlets, spas, entertainment destinations, and managed properties."

The breach came to the attention of the company in early December after they received a report of unusual activity regarding payments on both credit and debit cards. Because of that report, Golden Nugget now has new, enhanced security measures in place to help prevent future breaches of security.

Authorities say they have no leads in the case and aren't sure who may be responsible, but law enforcement is involved in the investigation. It's also not known just how many epople may be affected by the breach, but again, the advice from the company encourages people to be alert for unusual charges on their cards saying:

"Look at your account every day and that way you will be able to see if there is any unusual activity or something that you didn't do,"
