The Odd Language of Parenting -- Things Only Parents Say

All my life I've heard about what a joy grandchildren are and, believe me, it's all true. I can't put into words how much I love my grand kids. Everything they do is a joy and, even though their conversations don't always make sense, I love talking to them. Lately the 6 year-old has taken to doing impressions of Jerry Lewis, but that's not what this article is about.

There is another joy to having grandchildren that I've never heard mentioned. The joy of which I speak is a revenge of sorts. I find it so funny when I watch my own daughter speak Parenteze. You know what I mean. All the things that only parents say. Things we said as parents that invariably elicited an eye roll from our kids.

Watch this video and you'll see just about everything you said as a parent. Non-parents who watch this video are almost sure to say, "I'll never say that." Well, time for a reality check because you will say them and your own parents will laugh at you when you do.
