Suspicious Device Found and Neutralized at University of Louisiana Lafayette
Bombs at University of Louisiana Lafayette used to mean a team had a bad game or a long touchdown pass had been completed. Today the word "bomb" took on a whole new meaning and all classes were canceled.
According to WWL bomb technicians neutralized a suspicious device near the ULL campus and found another in a nearby parking garage. This caused today's classes to be canceled and residents near the campus were warned they may hear an explosion.
WWl quotes Lafayette police spokesman Kyle Soriez who said someone called about 5:35 a.m. to say a bomb had been placed at Girard Park, which sits next to the sprawling, 1,500-acre university campus.
There were no reports on injuries.
