
Governor Jeff Landry Supports President Trump Sending Troops To Louisiana Cities
(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - Gov. Jeff Landry said this week that he supports President Trump sending National Guard troops to patrol the streets of certain Louisiana cities.
This isn't the first time that the governor has voiced his endorsement of National Guard troops patrolling high crime sections of Louisiana's bigger cities.

Wesley Muller at the Louisiana Illuminator is reporting that the troops would be used as a “force multiplier” for local police, similar to how they are being used in Washington, D.C.
President Trump has made reference to New Orleans as a potential future action location for weeks.

Pentagon Leak Reveals Guard Plans For New Orleans
In fact, Muller says that plans from the Pentagon were leaked to the Washington Post about the intent of sending 1,000 National Guard troops to NOLA.
Included in the plans are a memo from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth advising that the only way the plan would move forward would be if Governor Landry would ask President Trump personally for the assistance.
Crime Drops in Washington, D.C. And Memphis Under National Guard Patrols
Efforts and execution to lower crime in Washington, D.C, has shown to be very productive. Crime rates in the nation's capital are at a 30-year low.
President Trump also sent National Guard troops to Memphis, TN three days ago (9/15/25) and as of writing this article crime is down to a 25-year low in just a few days.
Which Louisiana Cities Could See Troop Deployment?
New Orleans could be first, however, other cities that have been speculated to be on the "bad list" for Louisiana are Shreveport, Baton Rouge, and Lafayette.
