Son of Former Saints and LSU Running Back Passes Away
The son of former Saints and LSU great, Dalton Hilliard Sr., has passed away. Dalton Hilliard Jr was only 29 years old. His passing was confirmed by his former university via Twitter yesterday.
The cause of death is unknown at this time. Hilliard Jr. was a standout at Brother Martin High School in New Orleans and went on to play football for the Nicholls State Colonels from 2010 to 2013.
Hillard's father, Dalton Hilliard Sr., played running back for the LSU Tigers from 1982 to 1985. He finished his college career with over 4,000 yards rushing with 44 touchdowns. Hilliard Sr was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the second round of the 1986 NFL draft and became the first player in NFL history to rush for 1200 yards, catch 50 passes, score 18 touchdowns and have fewer than eight fumbles in a single season.
