Scott Woman Wanted in Death of Newborn

Authorities are looking for Katie Elizabeth Chriceol of Scott. She is wanted in connection of the death her newborn and the circumstances of that death are appalling.

According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon, Chriceol is wanted on a second-degree murder charge for the death of her daughter, Tailor Elizabeth Edmond. According to Melancon, at the time of the child's death, both Chriceol and her newborn daughter tested positive for meth.

Melancon said Chriceol gave birth at home on March 29. Her child went into cardiac arrest and died at a local hospital. Chriceol was indicted May 14 and an arrest warrant was issued for her arrest. Her last known address was 100 block of Coyote Run in Scott.
