Radio Shack Hold-Up Suspect to Stand Trial

Back in January of 2013, several Radio Shack stores in Lake Charles, Sulphur and Houston were robbed at gunpoint. In all, a total of 28 Radio Shack stores were hit by the robbers and nine Texas residents were later indicted for the crimes here in Calcasieu Parish.

One of those suspects will go to trial this week.

One of the suspects, James Undra Cooper of Houston pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery for his part in the hold-ups and a second suspect, Michael Gerard Holmes (pictured), also of Houston, will stand trial facing four counts of armed robbery with a firearm and conspiracy armed robbery with a firearm.

Seven other people have been indicted in the string of robberies and will soon go to trial for their parts in the hold-ups.
