Police Chase in Lake Charles Ends With Arrest

KPLC-7 reports Lake Charles police were led on a high speed chase through the city this morning. According to Sgt. Scott Dougherty, officers attempted to make a stop after observing the driver of a black vehicle run red lights while driving recklessly down Enterprise. Refusing to stop, the driver picked up speed and cut through several residential areas headed toward downtown.

Authorities said the person zig-zagged up and down Ryan trying to lose patrol cars that were in hot pursuit. The mid-morning chase ended on Weaver Road and thankfully no one was injured during the incident. One unidentified suspect (the driver) was taken into custody. At this time, it’s unclear as to why the person fled. More details are pending following an investigation.
