New Additions to the Toy Hall of Fame
If you're anything like me, you wish you had taken better care of and saved your childhood toys. It's amazing just how valuable those old toys are, and some of them go for some big bucks at auction and antique stores. Over the years, I've gotten my hands on some toy collector magazines and catalogues, and the prices on those old toys would send a kid to Harvard.
Each year, the big toy museum, also known as the Museum of Play, adds several toys to what I guess you would call the Hall of Fame, and this year's additions have just been announced. This year's winners include:
The Swing - Yep the old fashioned swing just like you probably had in your back yard
Believe it or not, there are nominees who don't make the cut, and this year's nominees included a few names you may know. For example, some toys that didn't make the final cut include the board game of Clue, Care Bears, Nerf and Transformers. To add insult to injury, I can't believe that Rock 'Em Sock Em Robots is missing. What's this world coming to when a great toy like that doesn't make the Hall of Fame.
