It looks like our only chance for a Louisiana college championship is resting with the McNeese State Cowboys. McNeese rolled last night while the Tigers were embarrassed by Auburn. LSU's two conference losses will make winning the SEC very tough.

Both top 5 teams won last night. The No. 4(FCS) Cowboys won 45-2 over Nicolls State while (BCS) No. 5 Auburn beat LSU 41-7. The Cowboys won with a prolific offense that ran up 567 yards of total offense. Quarterback Daniel Sams carried the ball for 135 yards averaging over ten yards per carry. A tough Pokes defense held Nicholls to three points off of a 47 yard field goal. The win gave Cowboy's head coach Matt Viator his 65th career win at McNeese and moved hi into the record books with the most wins by any football coach in McNeese history.The Cowboys are on the road to take on Sam Houston next weekend. Auburn had a similar night against LSU. Freshman quarterback Brando Harris was 5-14 for only 58 yards. Anthony Jennings was 5-10 for 84 yards. It was a night where the LSU offense and defense were just out gunned. Auburn scored on it's first four possessions and ended up with 566 yards in total offense. It seemed the LSU defense could not stop them and the LSU offense was busy doing three and outs. LSU was 0-13 on third downs. LSU travels to Gainseville next week to take on Florida.
