Louisiana Tax Amnesty Program Starts Oct. 15

It sounds better than it is. It's amnesty only if you can afford to pay all your back taxes at once.

The Louisiana Tax Amnesty starts on Oct. 15 and ends on Nov. 14. The 30-day tax amnesty program offers taxpayers the opportunity to settle their accounts  by paying all of their delinquent taxes. There is a bonus to the program and that is that there is a waiver of all penalties and 50 percent of the interest owed.

If you can't afford that kind of outlay, there is a special program this year where you can pay overdue tax liabilities through installment payments over a six-month period of time.
