House Bill 335, which calls for restaurants to label the origin of their shrimp and crawfish on menus or signs, was met without objection.

For years seafood dealers have been searching for standards when it comes to labeling imported shrimp or crawfish. According to WAFB, "Louisiana seafood processors say the local product is safe, while imports are loaded with antibiotics and other things".

Consumers deserve to know where their seafood is coming from especially when 9 out of 10 shrimp you eat are being imported from somewhere. But where is that somewhere, exactly? That's what this new Louisiana seafood bill is hoping to change.
