Louisiana Netflix Customers Could Pay Up to $100 More a Month

If you share your Netflix password with friends or family, hold on.  You may be getting tagged with higher fees.  And, depending on how many people can access your account,  they may be much higher. You've probably heard Netflix is cracking down on sharing passwords.  And I don't blame them.

Some people may be outraged at this latest crackdown effort by Netflix, but if you are using someone else's password to access the streaming service, (whether its Netflix, Hulu, Prime, or any other pay service), it's theft. It's just that simple.

If you've shared your password with others, you might want to check your most recent Netflix statement to see if your charges are higher than normal.  Those charges might be a lot higher, depending on how many people have access to your password.

It might be a good idea to check your email or spam filter for an email from Netflix about the password crackdown.  Netflix will begin charging primary account holders for anyone who accesses your account outside of your home. Netflix uses the terminology "household" in their description, meaning a member of your household is someone that actually lives under your roof.

This might not seem like a big deal if you've only given your password with one other person.  But if they shared it with someone who then shared it with someone... well, you can see where that's going.  For example, if you're password has been shared 20 times, you could see an increase of up to $160 per month, above your normal subscription rate.

Depending on how many people have access to your account, you might want to change your password, or get ready to pay up.
