New Orleans, Louisiana Made Orkin’s Annual List For Most Mosquito Treatments

One Louisiana city stands above the rest in the Bayou State when it comes to the amount of treatments the city residents get for mosquitoes.

At this time of year, everyone looks forward to enjoying the nice warm evenings outside until they are reminded that so do mosquitoes. Although there are mosquitoes everywhere, certain places have more of them than others.

Los Angeles is ranked first for the third year in a row on Orkin's list of the worst cities for mosquitoes in 2023. Atlanta had previously held the top spot for seven straight years.

Orkin rates the top 50 mosquito-infested cities each year based on how frequently exterminators were called for treatment in the previous 12 months.

3. New York City
4. Atlanta
5. Dallas
6. Washington, D.C.
7. Philadelphia
8. Detroit
9. Houston
10. Charlotte

At this point, you're probably asking yourself the same question I did. How did a Louisiana city not make the top 10?

Well, one Louisiana city did make the top 50. New Orleans came in at #41 on the list.

It's crazy to think that New York City and other northing cities has more mosquitoes than ones in Louisiana. I thought for sure Baton Rouge and maybe Shreveport would've made the top 50.
