In light of the severe flooding in Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi the National Weather Service has updated the flood warnings as of 2:06 a.m., March 14, 2016.  See the latest flood warnings below for areas effected by the rain-swollen Sabine River and other waterways.  For currant and updated road closures click, here.  For the latest river stages and forecasts click, here.

ABC News reports up to this point 1,400 soldiers and air crews with the National Guard are working in flooded areas throughout Louisiana.  So far they have rescued nearly 3,300 residents do to the unusual flooding.  They have deployed high-water vehicles, boats and three helicopters to aid in the ongoing rescues. According to the news as of Sunday morning, March 13, 2016, National Guard crews had evacuated some 3,295 people and 316 pets.

Residents should be aware that Calcasieu Sheriff Tony Mancuso, has issued a nighttime curfew that will be enforced for the area of west Calcasieu under voluntary evacuation as of Sunday.  KPLC 7 reports the flooding has begun to effect Allen and Calcasieu Parish as well.  Homes in Oakdale are now taking on water as the Calcasieu River rises.According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the Calcasieu River in Oakdale crested around 19.7 feet Sunday evening.  On Sunday the Oberlin river reached 21.7 feet, and it's being projected to crest somewhere around 25 feet.

  the Sabine River near Deweyville.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 12:45 am Monday the stage was 30.7 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and record flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 35.2 feet by 
  Tuesday evening.
* Impact... at stages near 32.7 feet... the river has reached its 
  unofficial highest gage reading previously set in may 1884. 
  Widespread catastrophic flooding will occur. All residents in Calcasieu
  Parish west of Highway 109 should have a plan of action and be prepared
  to evacuate due to flooding. 
* Impact... at stages near 30.0 feet... the river is at its flood of 
  record. Widespread major to catastrophic flooding will occur.
* Impact... at stages near 29.0 feet... major flooding occurring 
  leaving the town of Deweyville isolated. Numerous homes are 
  flooded.
* Impact... at stages near 27.9 feet... this flooding will be similar 
  to the flooding expierenced in the flood of March 2001. Homes in 
  Deweyville have water in them.

* At  1:15 am Monday the stage was 43.2 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 30.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to a stage of 40.8 feet 
  by tomorrow morning.
* Impact... at stages near 43.5 feet... the river is at its unofficial
  highest gage reading set in April 1913. Widespread catastrophic 
  flooding will occur.
* Impact... at stages near 39.0 feet... the river is at its flood of 
  record. Widespread major to catastrophic flooding will occur.
* Impact... at stages near 36.0 feet... major lowland flooding will 
  occur. Sabine sands Road has about one to three feet of water 
  covering the Road.
* Impact... at stages near 35.0 feet... expect several secondary roads
  in the Merryville area near the river to be closed.

* At 10:45 am Sunday the stage was 97.4 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 97.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by 
  tomorrow morning.
* Impact... at stages near 97.0 feet... minor flooding begins around 
  the lake, especially the north end of the lake.
