Lake Charles’ CyPhaCon Releases Autograph Pricing

The Shreveport and Bossier geek community has been celebrating geek culture for a long time. With the centerpiece of the geek community becoming Geek'd Con, Shreveport's comic con, every August at the Shreveport Convention Center. But if you want to get geeky before August, you don't have to wait too long.

This April, CyPhaCon is returning to the Lake Charles Civic Center. It's a 3-day event, that is a combination of Anime, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and gaming. This year's CyPhaCon is set for April 1st-3rd. The event has been running since 2011, and in the past has featured celebrity guests like Julian Glover, Sonny Strait, Chuck Huber, Tony Amendola, Monica Rial, Robert Axelrod, and many more.

This year, CyPhaCon's guest list features the star of multiple sci-fi and horror films. Including SFx superstar Doug Jones, voice actor Eric Vale, and Tim Russ from Star Trek and Spaceballs.

These type of events have a lot of great elements. From tons of vendors selling awesome geeky merchandise, including handmade crafts, and collectibles, to photo opportunities with great cosplayers. Fan groups of all shapes and sizes will be hanging out as well.

But maybe the biggest draw to the events are the celebrity guests you can meet.

Basically these events basically represent giant meet-and-greets. Where you get to meet the celebrity, and buy and autograph or a picture with them. Actually, you can even do both. Or you can get more than one autograph from each guest. You also get a chance to talk to the celebrity guests as well.

The celebrities do charge for pictures and autographs, because appearances at these type of shows is essentially part of their job. Generally, 100% of their autograph and picture money goes directly to the guest. So if you are a huge fan on someone, buying a picture or autograph from them is the most direct way to say "thank you" for the hours of entertainment they may have provided you.
