Lafayette native David Begnaud continues to climb the ranks at CBS and starting today (5/20), he will be the lead national correspondent for CBS This Morning.

The Teurlings Catholic and UL graduate leads a revamped quartet of correspondents for the CBS Morning News. He joins Jericka Duncan, Anna Werner and Vladimir Duthiers to deliver original reporting on the day's top stories, investigative reports and news-making interviews.

The four will appear with co-hosts Gayle King and newcomers Anthony Mason and Tony Dokoupil.

The reporters' stories will also be featured on the CBS Evening News and the network's other news platforms.

Begnaud joined CBS News in 2015 and has covered major news stories including the Orlando nightclub shooting, the San Bernardino terrorist attack and Hurricane Maria and its aftermath. The latter earned Begnaud the prestigious George Polk Award for public service.
