Joan Rivers Still Critical — Update

Doctors spent the weekend bring Joan Rivers out of an induced coma. Today they will assess the amount of brain damage sustained by the 81 year old comedienne.

Last week, Joan rivers was undergoing a pretty routine throat procedure at a doctors office when suddenly, everything turned bad and she was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Doctors at the hospital put the comedienne in an induced coma.

Doctors began the task of bring her out of that coma on Sunday, and today, they will determine the extent of brain damage.

Joan Rivers only child, Melissa, is asking for prayers and said that the family is hoping for a miracle.

Rivers started off as part of a folk trio before launching her comedy career back in the early 60's.
