It’s Cal-Cam Fair Time
Coming up October 18-22, it's the 93rd Annual Cal-Cam Fair! Get ready for all the fun of the fair, now in its new location at the Cal-Cam Arena. Each year, about 15,000 visitors attend the Cal-Cam Fair to enjoy everything from great carnival rides to a livestock show and, of course, great fair food!
In addition to all the traditional fair fun, there will also be a full roster of bands playing throughout the fair and, of course, The Miss Cal-Cam competition. The Cal-Cam Fair really does feature a bit of something for everyone and, just like any worthy fair, you'll find a world of arts and crafts and great, homemade things to eat. That's got to be a popular exhibit, given how many great cooks we have in this area!
Festival hours are:
4 p.m. – 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday
5 p.m. – midnight Friday,
10 a.m. – midnight Saturday and
1-6 p.m. on Sunday.
The hugely-popular Cal-Cam Fair parade takes place at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14 beginning at Sulphur High School down Willow St., and it proceeds east on Cypress Street to W.W. Lewis Middle School.
While the fair is all about a good time, it also helps out area youth with the Cal-Cam Fair Livestock show. Proceeds from that show go to a special scholarship fund.
Admission is only $6 for ages 11 and older, and kids 10 and under get in free. By the way, there is no alcohol allowed at the fair. If you would like a full schedule of the event, you can call the festival office at 337-527-9371.
