Ginuwine Will Ride His ‘Pony’ Into Lake Charles This May
Singer, songwriter, and actor Ginuwine will be performing in Lake Charles later in May.
I still remember the first time I heard "Pony" from Ginuwine, I was in high school and I heard a neighbor playing it in their backyard. My best friend Jeremy was with me and he said, "that's the new song called Pony". I replied, "there is no way someone made a song about a pony". Well, he did and it turned out to be a huge hit.
Ginuwine, Elgin Baylor Lumpkin, was born on October 15, 1970 in Washington, D.C. His parents named him after NBA legend Elgin Baylor. After graduating from Community College with his paralegal associate's degree, he hooked up with Swing Mob, a New York-based record label founded by a former member of Jodeci. There, he met Missy Elliot, Timbaland, and many other influential people that helped kick start his music career.
You will hear his greatest hits like:
- Pony
- Same 'Ol G
- So Anxious
- Differences
And Many More!
Wine takes the Grand Event Center stage at the Golden Nugget Sunday, May 29 at 8:00 pm.
