I remember my big sister having an Easy Bake oven. She made those little cakes and shared with her four sibling. We each got a bite. Maybe that's why the cakes tasted so good. We never got enough to get a good taste.

The problem with the Easy Bake oven is that it has always been targeted and manufactured for girls. I have to tell you that I have always cooked. This last week I made peanut butter cookies, oatmeal cookies, chocolate chip cookies, brownies, divinity and fudge. we give treats as Christmas presents every year. There is nothing wrong with a guy cooking and so there should be nothing wrong with a little boy getting an Easy bake oven. In November, 13-year-old McKenna Pope of New Jersey submitted a petition to Change.org , which asked toy maker Hasbro to create a gender-neutral version of the classic toy that her little brother wouldn't be embarrassed to use. It worked!

Since Pope launched the campaign, her petition has received more than 44,000signatures and Hasbro has taken notice. Beginning next year, the toymaker willbegin selling an Easy-Bake Oven for boys in black and silver. I have to tell my kids to get busy and give me a grandson so I can give him one and have a bite of cake.
