CPSO To Hand Out Turkeys Instead Of Tickets Starting Today

The Thanksgiving holiday is this Thursday and everyone is getting into the spirit including the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office.

Starting today, Tuesday November 26th, 2019 CPSO deputies will be handing out turkeys throughout the Parish to folks who commit minor violations like not wearing your seatbelt or speeding.

We are not saying to go speed down the road and not wear your seat belt just to get a turkey LOL.

Kim Myers with the CPSO said,

Caran and Harry Shaheen, the owners of the 5 Star Convenience Stores, donated 100 turkeys to CPSO.  This is the third year the Shaheens have donated turkeys.
