It is a sad day for all of us in radio or for any of us who grew up with the American Top 40. Long time radio personality Casey Kasem has passed away at the age of 82.

Kasem's 40 year radio career made him a household name in America. He also did cartoon voices like Shaggy in the Scooby Doo series. Casey's daughter Kerri wrote this on her facebook page "Early this Father’s Day morning, our dad Casey Kasem passed away surrounded by family and friends. Even though we know he is in a better place and no longer suffering, we are heartbroken,"

Kasem had been suffering from Lewy disease (an advanced form of dimentia.) We know if he had time to leave us with any words of wisdom it would be "Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars."
